Miscellaneous Information:

During 30 years in public education Susie has served in a variety of roles; beginning as a special education teacher and finishing her career as a successful campus administrator. She is a true leader in both personal and professional development. Her career in public education was devoted to excellence in teaching and learning, and she achieved excellence through building relationships in order to build capacity. In 2015, Susie retired after 14 years as a principal in Plano, Texas. Susie created her company, Susie Vaughan & Company to pursue her passion for coaching and leadership development. She believes leadership is both a privilege and a responsibility; and strong leaders commit to their own professional growth as well as the growth of those who work for and with them.

Susie completed her coach training through Results Coaching Global. Susie has been effectively using the coaching model with school district staff and private clients for the past several years.  Susie is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coach Federation (ICF).

Susie first saw the power of coaching as a 2010 participant in Marsha Clark and Associates’ Power of Self program. In response to her own experience with a coach and seeing its’ positive impact on others, she became passionate about coaching as a way to achieve lasting change.

Susie believes all effective leaders must be learners; so she continues to find ways to grow herself and others. She does this through continued reading and research related to coaching and leadership. She also participates in professional organizations such as the International Coach Federation and the International Coach Federation – North Texas chapter, and The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. Through Marsha Clark and Associates, she is certified to train in the areas of Courageous Group Conversations and Conflict Management and Enriching Relationships. Susie regularly facilitates professional development for administrators, leaders, and leadership teams. Some topics of particular interest include group trust, high performance teams, and the role and impact of a strong leader.

Susie holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater and a certification from the Principal/Mid Management Program at Texas A&M University at Commerce.
